Pool Academy are innovating and reaching out to their local business community by hosting a business breakfast networking event.
Clare Trice, CTCC Solutions, is the Enterprise Adviser working with Cris Heartford, the Deputy Head Teacher and Careers Leader, to offer this event. In partnership with the local networking and events organisation Your Partnerships, the event aims to bring local businesses to the school for a catch-up over breakfast and bridge the gap for future employers of the students of Pool Academy.
Ruth Bennetts, Enterprise Coordinator for the Careers Hub Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly said; ‘this is brilliant practice by the school and their Enterprise Adviser. Careers Leaders develop a school’s career strategy and promote the offer to students, parents, teachers and employers. Another element of their work is to network with local businesses to build relationships, embed more career activities within their schools, and create more student opportunities. For businesses, they want to build their talent pipeline and give back to their communities.’
Clare Trice, Enterprise Adviser for Pool Academy said; “This business networking event is the first of a series hosted at the school. Please contact us if you are a business and want to learn more about the Careers Hub’s work or to get engaged in or to attend events such as this.”
